NEW BEGINNINGS

Birth

Mazal Tov on the newest addition to your family!

We would love to help guide you in the many ways that our community can bring the richness of Jewish life to your family and your newborn baby. Contact us with questions about names, ceremonies, or beginning your child’s Jewish journey. We look forward to sharing your simcha with you!

THE COVENANT

Brit Milah & Baby Naming

If you are expecting or have just had a boy, a Brit Milah (Bris) welcomes your son into the covenant of the Jewish people. Traditionally held on the eighth day of the baby’s life, the ceremony also includes announcing his Hebrew name, connecting him to his family and our people’s timeless tradition.

Rabbi Junik can guide your family through this occasion and help you connect with a qualified mohel. We are happy to share this experience with you and your family.

A NAME. A BLESSING.

Birth of a Girl & Baby Naming

The baby naming ceremony is a beautiful tradition performed shortly after a baby girl’s birth. We invite the baby and her parents to join us at the Torah to give her a Hebrew name and offer a blessing for her and her family.

This joyous occasion brings family and community together. We look forward to celebrating with you.

GROWING IN JUDAISM

Bar & Bat Mitzvah

A Bar or Bat Mitzvah marks an important step in the spiritual growth of a Jewish child. It is a beginning that encourages a young person to engage more meaningfully in Jewish life and continue learning.

At Chabad of Burlington, we help each child prepare for a meaningful celebration and a lifelong connection to Judaism. Bar Mitzvah training is led by Rabbi Junik, and Bat Mitzvah training by Mrs. Draizy Junik. Preparation can be arranged for any Jewish child, regardless of background or affiliation.

BUILDING A JEWISH HOME

Jewish Weddings

Mazal Tov on your engagement! Choosing a rabbi to officiate at your wedding is a meaningful part of preparing for your future together. We hope it begins a relationship that will continue for many years.

Rabbi Junik will meet with you before the wedding to discuss the ceremony, guide you through its traditions and rituals, and help you prepare for a Jewish life together. Our goal is to make this occasion meaningful for you and your families.

CARE & COMFORT

Funeral Services & Shiva

Jewish tradition offers wisdom, comfort, and support during the experience of death and loss. We are here for you and your family.

After a loved one passes away, please contact us before confirming the funeral’s date and time so that we can respond to your needs and coordinate the arrangements. Rabbi Junik is available for counseling, funeral preparation, and guidance on honoring your loved one.

Following the funeral, we can help guide you through the mourning process, including shiva and traditional mourning services.

HONORING A MEMORY

Yahrzeit & Kaddish

A yahrzeit marks the anniversary of a loved one’s passing. Reciting Kaddish with a minyan, giving charity, and studying Torah in their memory are meaningful ways to honor them.

At Chabad of Burlington, we are here for you and your family and can help you observe a yahrzeit and arrange for Kaddish. Please contact us for guidance.
