Yahrzeit and Kaddish
The Yahrzeit is the day that marks the day of passing of a loved one, and the Kaddish Prayer is the service that memorializes and honors the loved one.

Kaddish is the way we show our respect for our parents and the way they showed their love and respect for their parents. Children honor their parents memory and observe their parent’s Yahrzeit by reciting the kaddish prayer at synagogue (with a Minyan), giving extra charity, and studying Torah in their honor.
